1. What the board shows
Open Tachukdi from the navbar to see short posts written by readers. Every post sits under a category and a sub-category, and the board groups the posts so you can scan one topic at a time.
- Each card carries a coloured edge, the category and sub-category chips, the posted date and the author's name.
- Only published posts are shown. If nothing matches you will see "No tachukdis found." — clear the filters or try another keyword.
2. Filtering and searching
- Category dropdown — All categories plus every category on the board.
- Sub-category dropdown — narrows to the chosen category, so pick a category first. Choosing a different category resets it.
- Search box — matches keywords in titles and descriptions, including Gujarati and transliterated spellings. Use the ✕ to clear it.
3. Reading a post
Click any card to open the full post. The popup shows the title, the category and sub-category badges, the posted date, the author, and the complete description. If a post has no description text you will see "No description available."
4. An author's other posts
Click the author's name on a card to open a dialog listing that author's other tachukdis. Scroll to the bottom of the list to load more.
5. Posting a tachukdi
Posting is open to signed-in readers only.
- Click Add Tachukdi (ટચૂકડી ઉમેરો). If you are not signed in the sign-in dialog opens — log in and the posting form appears by itself, with no page reload.
- Choose a Category.
- Choose a Sub-category. It stays disabled until a category is picked, and its list follows the category you chose.
- Write a Title and a Description — each field shows a live word and character count underneath.
- Click Submit Tachukdi. The button reads "Submitting…" while it works.
| Field | Required | Rule |
|---|---|---|
| Category | Yes | Pick one from the list. |
| Sub-category | Yes | Must belong to the category you selected. |
| Title | Yes | At least 20 characters. |
| Description | Yes | At least 10 characters. |
Remember that an approved post is public. Only include a phone number, address or photo if you are happy for everyone to see it.
6. What happens after you submit
Your tachukdi is saved as a draft and is not on the board yet — every submission is reviewed by the editorial team first.
- You see the confirmation "Your tachukdi has been received and is pending admin moderation."
- An administrator reviews the post and either publishes it or leaves it out.
- Once published, it appears on the board under the category and sub-category you chose, with your name (and your profile photo, if you have set one).
If the submission does not go through you will see "Failed to submit your tachukdi. Please try again.", sometimes with a short reason in brackets. Your text stays in the form, so you can adjust the field and submit again.
7. Troubleshooting
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| I submitted successfully but my post is not on the board | Expected — submissions wait for moderation. It appears once an administrator publishes it. |
| The sign-in dialog opens when I click Add Tachukdi | You are not signed in. Log in and the posting form opens automatically. |
| The sub-category dropdown is empty or greyed out | Choose a category first, then pick the sub-category. |
| The form asks for a longer title | The title needs at least 20 characters. The counter under the field shows how far along you are. |
| "Failed to submit your tachukdi. Please try again." | Retry once. If it keeps failing, report the message shown in brackets to the site administrator. |
| My approved post shows the wrong name | Posts carry the name and photo of the account that submitted them — check who is signed in. |
8. Rules
Post honestly and keep it civil. Misleading, abusive or spam posts are removed by the moderation team, and repeat offenders may lose posting rights.
