👤 Profile — User Guide

Your account hub: personal details, preferences, saved content, notifications and security.

1. Signing in

Sign in from the header or the Profile page. You can register with email & password, or use a social/SSO login if enabled. After signing in, the header shows your account — open Profile to manage everything below.

2. Profile — what you can change

Changes save instantly and apply across the site.

3. Page panels (Hide Categories / Hide Tags / Hide Flags)

Three quick-navigation strips can appear at the top of the page: a scrolling Categories rail (on phones only) and the Tags and Flags chip rows. Every toggle is off by default.

Hide Categories is a plain on/off. It takes the section rail away and changes nothing else; the sections stay one tap away in the menu and on the Explore page.

The two chip rows share one line, so switching one off changes how the other is laid out:

Tags Flags What the page shows
Visible Visible Both rows side by side, each half the width
Hidden Visible Only the Flags row, stretched across the full width
Visible Hidden Only the Tags row, stretched across the full width
Hidden Hidden Neither row — the block disappears completely, leaving no empty space

The Categories rail sits above both chip rows and is not affected by them: it stays until you hide it too. These strips appear on the home, category, tag, flag and search pages, and on the homepage guide you can see how they are arranged.

📣 Above everything on the page, in the header itself, sits the breaking-news marquee — see Breaking News Marquee for what it is and how to read it.

4. Saved content

Articles and charchapatra posts you save (bookmark icon) appear here, so you can return to them later. Remove an item to unsave it from both your profile and the original page.

The list keeps your 500 most recent saves — that is plenty for everyday use, and keeping the newest means the items you just saved are always the ones shown. If you ever save more than 500, the oldest ones quietly fall off the end of the list.
